Fender Mustang, Mustang 90, Duo-Sonic, Duo-Sonic HS and Mustang Bass PJ join the Player Series lineup, with new finishes, short scale offset guitars and bass complementing the series.

Fender Player Series with Short Scale Offset

Replacing the standard Mexican lineup in 2018, Fender’s Player Series has expanded the series with historically inexpensive studio models like the Duo-Sonic and Mustang in both electric guitar and electric bass.

Now, four guitars and a short scale offset electric bass have officially joined the Player Series lineup. After being announced at NAMM 2020: Mustang, Mustang 90, Duo-Sonic, Duo-Sonic HS and Mustang Bass PJ.

Features of the new Player Series guitars

All new models feature vintage-inspired pickups and modern ‘C’ shaped necks, and bring four new finishes to the Player Series: Firemist Gold, Desert Sand, Aged Natural and Burgundy Mist Metallic.

Fender has engaged some of the artists to present and promote the range, with Black Pumas, The Regrettes, Omar Apollo and beabadoobee.

A new cult piece for Grunge fans thanks to the association with Kurt Cobain from Nirvana, which is also joined by the new pop rockers from The 1975. The Fender Mustang joins production at the Ensenada factory in Mexico.
