Gibson’s new partnership with Zoundio
Gibson’s new application stems from the guitar company’s partnership with Swedish tech company Zoundio. The new app has its version for iOS for iPhone and Android.
Gibson App: Features and Functionalities
Gibson App is a multi-faceted virtual tool with sections on: Guitar Lessons, Built-in Tuner, Gibson TV, Gibson Shop and Virtual Guitar Technical Service.
Guitar lessons
The application is spearheaded by an extensive library of guitar lessons that provide “immersive, interactive, two-way guitar learning” for electric and acoustic guitarists in a variety of genres and styles.
The lessons use audio augmented reality (AR) technology to respond and then direct the player, while providing feedback in real time. Furthermore, users can also use the app to learn to play or play songs by classic artists such as Eric Clapton, The Beatles, BB King, Santana, Aerosmith, Tom Petty, Dolly Parton, Billie Eilish, Foo Fighters, Thin Lizzy and many more.
Built-in tuner
Also, it has the always useful tuner. This function supports standard tuning, plus a number of alternative tunings, including chromatic tuning.
Users can choose between automatic or manual string detection; while beginners can also watch a “how to tune” video.
Gibson TV
The Gibson TV segment of Gibson App gives users early access to interviews and episodes of Gibson TV shows like Icons, Riff Lords and The Collection.
Gibson Shop
Also, it features an store section that allows users to directly purchase Gibson, Epiphone and Kramer instruments.
Virtual Guitar Tech Services
Finally, the app’s Virtual Guitar Tech Service offers users a free one-on-one consultation with a professional Gibson guitar technician, whose topic can cover a variety of basic guitar tuning and maintenance tasks.
